Hey Everyone,

My name is Isamu but my nickname is Izzy. I help lead worship at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Vancouver, BC. Our team is comprised of 2 vocals, 1 electric, 1 bass, and 1 piano.

I have 9 years of experience playing on worship teams in small churches (usually 50-100 people). I usually play bass and some odd times I play acoustic guitar. I've been playing bass since high school, electric bass in the jazz band and double bass in the concert band.

Being a bass player, I really digg the motown, funk, R&b, whatever sound. Actually, I like almost any kind of music as long as there's some melody to it. For worship, I really really really love hymns (not all of them, just the good ones).

So to finish this post off, I'll give you my top 5 hymns:

5) When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

4) Victory in Jesus

3) Breathe on Me, Breath of God

2) There is a Fountain Filled with Blood

1) It is Well

Oh! And I really like what the folks at Red Mountain Church are doing. They take ~olde tyme hymnes~ and put different melodies and chords to it. And the thing is that those hymns are so old, that the older congregation don't know them, so they're like new contemporary songs.

Check them out! www.redmountainmusic.com (http://www.redmountainmusic.com)

Great! Another bass player!

Your highschool bass experience is like my college experience. I went to college on a trombone scholarship but a couple weeks in the bass player for our bands confessed he couldn't read sheet music. How he got in I don't know, so I was the only other bass player in the band. I played electric bass for most of the year but gradually got into upright bass which was so fun.

I hope to hear from you in the music sections of the site. Be blessed!
