Need help with song choice for drama

Hi - it's been a while since I've posted. Glad to be back!
Our church is doing a drama on Good Friday about the Passion. Rather than using the 'usual' Easter songs, we've decided to use Contemporary Christian songs that may not normally be associated with this subject and apply them to this context. For example, we'll use Third Days' "Thief" for the scene on the cross to give a different perspective of the crucifixion. We're even using a Sting tune for Jesus' entry into Jerusalem!

I'm trying to find 1-2 CCM songs that speak of the miracles Jesus performed, but I'm having a tough time. Any thoughts or ideas y'all have would be greatly appreciated.

I'm dating myself with this idea, but how about Michael W. Smith's "Could He Be the Messiah" off his Project album. (we're talking early 80's synth pop! I remember rocking out to this album as a kid :))
I went back and listened to it after reading your post and if you trade out some of Smitty's synth stuff with a more prominent guitar part, it could totally sound new and modern. And the lyrics sound like what you're looking for.

Did a little bit more ccli research--not a whole lot of modern-writ story dongs of this type. The last artist I remember tackling this was Rich ("Jesus Album") Mullins.

That said, under the right setup, I would think "I Am Free" and "Invitaton Fountain" would work.

Seriously, I second "Healer" and "Invitacion Fountain" Excellent songs.


New Breed has a song on Generation Love called "Expectation (Miracles, Signs & Wonders)" - great song.

"This Blood" (Carmen) - really a good song for contemplation of the work of the cross.

"Above All" although I know some folks have issues with this song.

"Once Again" love this tune.

"Remedy" (Crowder) amazing tune about healing.

Of course, you could always just go with "Secret Ambition." :)

My husband and I have worked a bit on using the verses of this with the chorus of Robin Mark's "The Wonder of the Cross". We'll have to pull it out again now, I think.
