Hi everyone!
I know I'm a little late, but I just wanted to share this song I wrote after seeing the Feb. challenge. I've been writing worship songs for about a year now, but I've always just written from whatever is on my mind or whatever God puts on my heart at the time. Never before have I taken up the challenge of writing a song based on an idea already chosen for me... and after reading psalm 31, I thought I'd never be able to do it. At first, nothing but misery was jumping out at me... but reading it over and over again, I started to see the point, and it blew me away. This has been the most fun and inspiring time I've had writing a song so far. So thanks, Russ, for this awesome idea...
Musically, this version of the song would not fit into the standard or typical style of a praise/worship song, but hopefully people will still be able to worship with it. I also have a stripped down piano/acoustic only version. Let me know if you would like to hear it and I'll upload it...
The main idea for the chorus was taken straight out of verse 21 of the New Living Translation, but most of the wording for the rest of the song was taken from the NIV.
Let me know what you think! Good or bad! It's still a work in progress... :)

Wonder (Psalm 31)
v1
in You, oh Lord, I take my refuge
in Your presence I am safe
for there are some who seek to harm me
keep me from all shame, for the honor of Your Name
c1
praise The Lord!
for He has shown me wonders;
a love unlike all others
He pulled me from the grave and I am safe
praise The Lord!
His kindness knows no boundary
I was lost but then He found me
praise be to the Name above all names
v2
into Your hands I give my spirit
turn Your ear to hear me pray
shine Your face upon Your servant
and let it light my way, for the honor of Your Name
b1
so let the saints proclaim:
our God is King! oh yeah our God is King!
He’s worthy of all praise
and let the whole earth sing
for every wondrous thing;
is a gift from Him,
The God who’s here to save
