This is the set list for the main service at Boone Trail on Sunday morning. I play with the adult band on my electric guitar. I really liked our worship pastor's set this week, so I decided I'd post it for him... :D

We did something different this week; we tried to change things up a bit (the worship pastor didn't even wear his tie this week ), so we started with music and did welcome and announcements at the end. It was really good this morning, most people seemed to be participating and everyone was full of energy! When we started the first song, we had the drummer start playing the intro groove before everyone else came on stage. It was very cool! Anyways, here it is.

1. We're Here to Worship (Prestonwood Church Choir Book) E

2. You Are Good (Israel Houghton) E

3. Tis' So Sweet to Trust in Jesus (Hymns for Praise and Worship Book) E - F

4. Offertory Song - You Are My King (Newsboys) D

5. Fairest A (Can't remember where it's from, but it's Fairest Lord Jesus with a new chorus: ..You are fairer than the fairest of ten thousand, lovely than all I've ever seen...)

Very nice David! I like your idea for leaving the welcome and announcments for last. I did something similar last week. We are trying to leave the worship time uninterrupted by distractions.

I liked it too, but it wasn't my idea... :( Maybe our youth pastor will let me try that one Wednesday night. LOL, our worship pastor and the guy who is filling in for our senior pastor (we're looking for one) got togethor and came up with the stuff. One of the funny things that happened was at the end of You Are Good. When the worship pastor looked over at me and the acoustic guitar guy, he said he got a kick out of us "dancing." :o He got so excited, when we ended the song, he jumped up in the air and landed when we hit the final note! It actually helped us because the choir members were blocking our view from the pianist and keyboardist, so we knew to hit it when his feet hit the floor! :p

That's awesome! I agree a little jump kick is a great way to "kick start" worship.

Hi David! The song you are referring to "Fairest Lord Jesus" is off the "I Am Free" CD by Ross Parsley's Desperation band. What an AWESOME song, and CD! I love that CD, and their newest release, "My Savior Lives". We are currently working on music from this CD right now, along with a menagerie of serveral different things. Sometimes we just throw our "set" out, and just flow with the Holy Spirit! The Lord knows what he wants to do! :) Isn't it just AWESOME to be used for the Lord in this way! :)

Loved your set - bless you!
