Greetings dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
My name is Gordon Shields from Lodi, CA. I've been leading worship at a variety of mission fields for the past 33 years. I'm currently the worship leader at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church in Lodi. There is such a wealth of contemporary worship songs being written by gifted people that it's impossible to learn them all...but it sure is fun trying. I'm particularly blessed by such songwriters as Chris Tomlin, Paul Baloche, Brian Doerksen, just to name a few. What a joy we have as worship leaders to be able to lead God's people into His presence every time we gather in fellowship; but it is also a very important responsibility, not one to be taken lightly. Effective worship leading is a calling, not something someone does just because they know how to play a piano or a guitar. God bless you all and keep on worshipping the Lord. After all, worship is a lifestyle.
