And a wonderful Sunday to all,
I just found out about this forum the other day, and look forward to reading all your posts and also contributing whenever I can.
I was the worship leader at a church in Mount Olive, NJ for about 14 years, but the Lord has recently moved us on to Abundant Life Community Church in Mansfield, NJ. It's a very different feeling NOT being the worship leader, but when the Lord moved us, He told me to rest for a while, help out when asked, and just follow Me. So, that's what I'm doing. I've substituted for my new church's worship team members when they were vacationing or sick or away at conferences, playing drums, keys, bass, and acoustic guitar. I DO lead on Wednesday night bible study (just me on acoustic and a singer or two), and I love it.
I just love my new church. Everybody's welcomed my family and me with open arms.
I would love to hear from you all (oops, the two years I worked in the South has affected me) who have moved from one church to another, where your roles have changed. I'm sure I'm not the only one out here ... and if there already is a thread on this, just point me to it. Like I said, I'm new here ...
Blessings
