Hello Worship Community!! We are currently Worship Leaders at the First Assembly of God in Wellington, Ks. We are most comfortable doing the more contemporary style of worship but try to include a hymn or two when we lead. Finding the right balance is a challenge in our church as it is in many. Our previous church had one contemporary service early and a traditional service later in the morning so we gained some valuable choral and leadership experience.
Sherri plays the piano and sings, John plays bass and sings and our oldest daughter plays the drums. She won't let us give her a mic, even though she is a great singer, too. We have another daughter that also sings quite well. Our son in law built the new computer that feeds the projectors and is helping with the multimedia side of things. (OK so I'm a little biased...) Sherri and I have also written a few worship songs.
We just completed a new building that includes a new sanctuary and offices as well as a nice large foyer for people to visit in. We are still a fairly small congregation but are looking forward to seeing what God will do with the new and improved facilities.
We look forward to hanging out here and learning more about what works (and what doesn't) from other worship leaders.
God Bless
