I have a small to medium sized youth group of 15-25 kids. Being a worship musician, I've had a worship band going in the youth program for over 2 years now, but I feel like I'm neglecting some of the rest of the kids in giving them ministry opportunities to use their gifts and talents. I did well in speech class and am very comfortable on stage, but I don't have any formal training in acting or drama. I also have a recent high school graduate who is still in town and expressed getting more involved in leadership with the group. He did One Act Play in high school and did very well with it. So, if I have a group leader and some kids who are interested, what do I do now? What are some good youth drama resources I can use?

Also, our youth room is tiny, so any skits or dramas they do would be best served if they were done on video. Does this pose any other issues? Please let me know what you think.

Get video consent forms signed by parents. Some parents are concerned with video being made of their kids.

Otherwise videos and dramas are great, especially if the kids get to see leaders acting like fools.
All for Gods name.

Very cool about the video consent...I wasn't planning on posting anything on the web, but that's a good precaution. Do you have any resources to recommend? Skit books? Drama books? While I think writing some of our own stuff would be cool, I don't think the guy who will be leading it is quite there yet. Any recommended resources would be great. I just don't want anything to cheesy or like the church camp skits we used to do in the early 90s. Thanks for the comment.
