Hi, I'm Joe.

I was never formally trained on my primary worship team instruments. My instrumental education consists of 6 months piano in elementary school, baritone horn in Jr High and High School, Jazz trombone 3 years of high school. I play bass guitar on worship team and occasional acoustic guitar. I play an Ibanez Soundgear 5-string bass and am drooling over my dream guitar... I want to buy a Rainsong WS-1000 acoustic-electric, but that's not an affordable option for now.

My favorite worship artists are Paul Baloche, Chris Tomlin, David Crowder and a number of the Hillsong artists. I have a close buddy from childhood who is hoping to go professional with worship concerts... be listening for Steven Bjork in the next couple years.

I attend Bear Valley Church, which is loosely affiliated with a couple Baptist denominations, but I was raised Assembly of God (there seem to be many flavors of A/G experience) and have a bent toward "Community Church" style. The church has weekly attendance around 1000+, and we have two Sunday morning services and a Saturday evening service. We tend to mix a number of brand new/current songs with traditional hymns, stylized for the modern worship team.

I love to be on the worship team and don't mind showing my enjoyment as I participate as a lead worshiper. When people compliment me about my presence on stage I tell them it's my "David's dance before the Lord".

My dad has pastored a church before, when I was younger. My parents even toured in Oregon for a while in a musical trio. I was surrounded by vocal harmonizations, and I believe that is a big part of what has developed my strength for harmonies and good intonation.
