Greetings, I'm fortunate enough to be able to play guitar and sing on our church praise team at our morning services. It's almost too much to ask for to be able to play guitar and do it in His service as well. Sometimes I get to lead worship at our evening services as well when our regular leader is out. I also sing in a men's gospel singing group called His Messengers. There are 8 of us plus a pianist and we do about 12 services a year.

Additional interests are anything outdoors; camping, hunting, fishing, backpacking, hiking. I'm sure that when I go to heaven God will have a special tent for me and not a mansion. I can't wait!

My wife and I have been married 34 years and have two boys (26 and 30 years old), both play guitar, sing and play piano (and love the outdoors).

Oh, and I like Taylor guitars.

God is indeed good!
Dave

Dave,
Welcome - so glad you decided to join us! Phoenix is most likely a great place to enjoy some of those wonderful outdoor passions you have. I love the humility in your post - we should always be reminded what an honor and privilege it is to play and lead on our teams!

...And I love the fact that you love Taylors. I don't know if I've ever played a smoother-sounding instrument than a Taylor. I'm not even that great on guitar and a Taylor makes me sound like a CHAMP! Now...of course you know that to play anything other than Elixers on a Taylor is a sin of the highest order, right?

:P

Welcome, welcome.

El Ben,

Actually I've gone to D'Addario EXP Phos Bronze's on 3 of the Taylors (don't tell Bob) but went back to Elixirs on the 555 twelve string. The 12 string Elixirs are 80/20 bronze and I think they sound better on a 12 string. If you like Taylors you should try one of their 12s. It'l knock your socks off.

I've been slowly wading throught the many areas of the forum and it really looks great - lots of good info.
