I have really been enjoying the song "God of this City" lately. Heard it by Tomlin first, and then by Blue Tree, who I guess wrote it. I think I like their version better...any thoughts?

My teams been doing the Tomlin version for the past year. I personally don't like it, but Bluetree is a better version if I have to listen to it, an extra verse that Tomlin doesn't do. Its soooo repetitive. borrrrring. shorten or write more, please!

we've been using a version close to the live Passion/Tomlin version for about 6 months. I like it better than bluetree, because I don't like the feel that the minor chords of that version give the song. But, it's a great song either way, and our church sings it with passion every time.

I did a combo arrangement for it...has the minor chords in the first verse...resolves to the major in the second. I like it because it just seems to lend itself to a good "build up".

I agree- the chorus is a tad bit annoying.

I like the Bluetree version much better. To the point that I emailed them and asked if there would be any accompaniment tracks available in their version because all I could find was Tomlin.
His version is good, because it's a good song, but their style music is just more my speed.
Good news, they said that they thought accompaniment was in the works.
