I am currently the music leader at a fairly new (2.5 years) church. We started with 40 people in a living room and have been growing ever since. We have recently finished the planning phase for a new building and they should be breaking ground any day. It is all very fast-paced and exciting. The greatest challenge at the moment is to keep people motivated and not burn out while we are still mobile. The "promised land" of the new building is within sight but...not quite there yet.

Nice to meet you Thomas. I'm originally from somewhat the same area, near Mt. Vernon IL. Did some sandbagging around Alton in '93 while in the National Guard. Nice to have you with us brother. Hop right in and post away. God bless!

Oh yeah, I filled a few sandbags myself. What a trip. On the upside of that flood, I bought a really nice Seiko for CHEAP from a flooded jewelry store. It was good for 100m but the box and paperwork were not. Hehe.

Hey -
Welcome to TWC! I share your vision for "the promised Land" ... we're moving out of our cramped, tiny "upstairs office/storefront" church into a new 74,000 ft2 facility in Jan-Feb 2008! In the meantime, we try to keep reminding ourselves to focus forward, but don't neglect today - we still have at least 6 mos here!

Yep, keeping the team focused is my #1 goal right now.
