Hi there, I am a long time member of our worship planning team at First General Baptist Church in Malden, Missouri. wow, that was a lot of capital letters! i guess i felt like being formal in my intro. not gonna happen again folks. ;) heehee. i also am the "lighting director" (meaning i have run the lights, not much directing to it!) in both of our worship services (8:30 & 10:30) each sunday morning for the past several years. i have finally trained some help now and am getting to just experience worship more often. i also direct our dramas, and do our visual elements for our services, hince the shepaints moniker. a lot for one worn out grandmother-aged (goin on 50) woman you might say, and to that i say AMEN!
I am very excited to find this group and to learn all i can to improve the worship experience at our church. i also hope to interest our praise team and band in joining this forum as well. God bless you all.

Wow! I grew up in Malden! In fact, my grandparents still go to a Baptist church right in that area. I moved away to Chicago for 13 years or so (till I wound up back here in MO again) :) anyway, nice to meet you.

i probably know them and your parents! the nice thing about malden is that nothing ever changes, and the bad thing about malden is...you guessed it, nothing ever changes! heehee. nice to meet you too.
i'm a little bit worried that i am not going to have much to offer in the way of input here since i come from the back side of the sticks and we are only about 10 years behind the times with our worship style changes etc. but i hope to learn a lot that will help in those areas.

LOL! I understand that Debbie! I'm originally from Southern IL. If you notice if someone from St. Louis posts something, I mention that I'm originally from their area, and if someone from Evansville, IN. posts something I tell them I'm originally from their area. That's because where I'm from is so small that anyone within a 2 hour drive is considered as living our neighborhood! Even though I'm only 36 I remember outhouses, no running water ya pumped it from the well, and doing laundry with a wash tub and ringer. Ahhh the country life! Now if you have a better sound system in your tractor than you do in your house or car you might be from Southern IL!

Well my grandparents actually live in Holcomb, but they were farmers in the Malden countryside for many years. They are Earl and Virginia Walker.
