This is hard for me....

... but I want to ask the saints for prayer and encouragement. My family has a grave need for a break in finances. It seems we've been up against the wall for quite a while - but God has always come through! But my leading this morning is to reach out for prayer.

A year and a half ago I was laid off of my job and fell behind on our mortgage. The house went into forclosure. Now, by God's grace we were able to forstall this, and have been finally able to work out an agreement with the bank. I can tell you that at least three times during this whole thing we have been literally one day from losing our home when God stepped in.

So as I was saying, we've been able to work out an agreement with them. We've been paying some large payments to catch up. As of the end of March, if we make the payments on time, the forclosure will be dismissed.

My problem is this. My income is largely (mainly) tied to the financial performance of my job, which has been horrible. Just when we thought we were out of hot water, the bottom fell out. We're in a position where there is no way to make this months payment. I have a tax refund coming, but it will be to late, and the bank will not accept a late payment.

So I know this: the fervent prayers of the righteous avail much. So I am asking that you keep this in prayer over the next two days, that something will break forth. I believe that God will come through, but am accepting His will in this. I've been fasting and praying, but my word this morning was to enlist the saints. So here I am. Thanks in advance!

Mike,
Thanks for sharing this - is it too personal to ask what the nature of your current job is (that depends on the financial performance?) ... so we can pray in that direction, too?

Not at all. I am a service manager for a small import car dealership. Business is way down, to the point I'm having to cut people's hours. I'm trying not to have to lay any one off.

I've been doing this for 15 years, and this is by far the worst I've ever seen.

I will ask my worship band to pray very specifically for your need tonight... 6:30p.m. Alaska Time...

I'll be praying for you. We have several families in our church in similar situations.

Guys, thanks, all of you.

God has provided and we were able to get the payment made - a day early! :D

One more BIG payment to go and then they will reset the loan to a more normal amount. So keep it in prayer!

I sincerely believe that those of you who agreed in prayer were integral in this! Thank you so much!

that old gospel tune is going through my head, "he's an on-time God"
