I'm not saying its bad to listen to only listen to christian music, but the truth is we feel that we have to hide the fact that we do listen to non-christian music.
so what non-christian music does everyone listen to?
i highly enjoy:
Death cab for cutie

Actually, I feel totally unapologetic about the 'secular' music I listen to, because the line is so incredibly blurred by the fact that many of the so-called 'secular bands' I enjoy are made up of mostly Christians, and on top of that, all music is God's, and therefore in one way or another still glorifies Him. I, of course, try to choose what I listen to according to what builds me up...that means that 95% of what I/we listen to is worship because I NEED to be built up, but I feel no guilt whatsoever for listening to these other artists...
I love:
The Zombies (including new stuff)
Over the Rhine (mostly Christians, but of the more liberal sort, and on a secular label)
Bruce Cockburn (ditto)
U2 (well...that's basically worship - labels are so confusing sometimes)
Sting/The Police (esp. Sting's Jazzier work, and the Police's more atmospheric stuff - "Secret Journey" and "Synchronicity II", etc)
Pink Floyd (I have to be careful as to when I listen to them - they CAN put me into a bad mood at times, but musically I find great inspiration from them)
I also dig Death Cab for Cutie (one of my wife's bridesmaids is in one of their videos, in fact), Elbow, & some stuff by Wilco(particularly Yankee Foxtrot Hotel).
Non-worship music that is by Christians that I love: Copeland, Further Seems Forever, & Luxury...

I'll second that emotion - I listen to a wide range of music - not as diverse as many on this list, but I enjoy jazz, classical, pop, rock (esp. the old Southern Rock - bring it on Skynard). I've been driving around with my iPod on "Shuffle All" in the car, and I'm trying to force myself to keep it there so I can get re-acclimated to some diversity!

INXS (Michael Hutchence stuff)
The Fray
U2 (I'm a worship leader...don't we all like them?)
Muse
That's about it. I get tired of the new rock music so much of it has sounded the same for too long for me.
I'm a talk radio fiend as well.

Dude...I've been on an R.E.M. kick as of late: "Lotus", "Imitation of Life", "Bad Day" & "All the way to Reno" are brilliant, but their new stuff still doesn't touch anything off of LIFE'S RICH PAGEANT, DOCUMENT or GREEN, which are quite possibly some of the greatest collections of music ever written, performed, and/or recorded. I remember knocking coffee out of Mike Stipe's hand the very first day I lived in Athens, GA - you could say that EVERY EYE in the entire coffee-house, and a few outside, were on me...pretty embarrassing. He was quite polite about it, though. Just never ask for his autograph (thankfully, I never made that mistake)...he doesn't much like that sort of attention.

Well, here are some bands and artists that are pretty popular on my iPod:
1.) PaloAlto: "Heroes and Villains" (chill driving music)
2.) Keane: "Hopes and Fears" (thought-provoking chill driving music)
3.) India Arie: "Acoustic Soul" (toned-down booty music)
4.) John McLaughlin: the song "Beautiful Diasaster" (free iTunes download) :)
5.) Howie Day: "The Madrigals" and parts of "Stop All the World Now"
6.) Coldplay (of course)
7.) U2 (of course)
8.) Mutemath (duh)
9.) Hellogoodbye "Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs" (uber-electronica)
10.) The Fray (sometimes when the lead singer's voice doesn't annoy me)
11.) Justin Timberlake (I consistently bring sexy back...and back...and back again.)
12.) Prince "Musicology" and "Purple Rain" (the movie and the song)
13.) Pre-1990 Michael Jackson (Billie Jean, Thriller, ect.)
14.) anything by Joss Stone
15.) Maroon Five "Songs about Jane" and "It Won't Be Soon Before Long"

Yeah I actually enjoy making the point that just b/c it's Christian doesn't mean it's "good" and just because it's not found in a Christian Bookstore or on a Christian label doesn't make the music "bad." I love breaking that stereotype.
My iPod is all over the place. Recently:
Lifehouse's new one - Who We Are (great stereotype buster :)
Paramore - Riot
Keane
Muse
U2
Mutemath
Snow Patrol
Coldplay's older stuff
Anberlin - not sure where they fall in line actually
Oasis - What's the Story Morning Glory - OH found it at a Thrift Store and forgot how nuts it was!
30 Seconds to Mars
A.F.I. - though I have no clue what any of there stuff is about
Daughtry - yeah, yeah, I know but my wife sucks me into American Idol, however this CD made it worth it!
Dishwalla - Dishwalla - yummy
Flickerstick - Live from Atlanta - mmm yummy too!
Old School Tonic - never gets old
Linkin Park
The Killers - both CDs, was it even the same band? Doesn't matter.

I've been saying that since the day Sam's Town came out! It's so throw-back when compared to the glitzy uber-club meets neo-rock mix of their first album. Still...I like them both.

Since I put on between 30,000 and 40,000 miles a year on my car, and my wife was running out of ideas as to what to get me for Christmas one year, she bought XM Radio for me. I've got it tuned to 5 stations, primarily:
1) The Message - Christian rock
2) Watercolors - cool jazz
3) Real Jazz - more traditional jazz
4) Top Tracks - this is when I NEED a Beatles or Who fix
5) ESPN Radio - nah, it's not music, but sometimes I don't want to think ... it works
really well for me

I've always had a wide variety or musical interests. If you know anything about me, you won't be surprised that I'm into a lot of Celtic music.
I just discovered Sinead O'Connor's Theology. Anyone else heard it? I'm getting ready to review it on my blog (http://garyandbeth.blogspot.com). A remarkable album.
I'm also into:
Imogen Heap
Bulgarian State Television Female Choir (no - really)
Coldplay
Fiona Apple (some of it)
Hevia
Jamie Cullum
Train
Vince Guaraldi
Keane
Yeah, a bit ecclectic. What do you expect from an old dude?

ouch...
I just did a rap song in our primary gathering Sunday a week ago. Haha.
It went over extremely well.
Our series had been on miracles, and we were on the "Jesus spitting, making mud, pasting it on the blind guy's eyes, and him seeing" miracle, so I had a nifty little rap tune that my old band used to do a few years back, called "Open My Eyes"...
It was fun.

Funny you should say that. I had started a thread on getting started with recording on a computer...well, back in the early 80s when Mark Heard was signed to Home Sweet Home Records, he was ready to release a rock oriented project, when the powers that be wanted a more acoustic project to follow "Eye of the Storm". So...he relented, went into his home studio, wrote and recorded "Ashes and Light" in about 2 weeks, and I think he did it on an Apple computer.

I tend to listen to K-Love or Air One in my car but then I usually hit a place where I feel like I'm always working, 'cause every time a song comes on, I'm thinking "could we use this? Love the music...not great lyrics...Or... great lyrics but boring melody..." or whatever. Then I turn on the classic rock station for a few weeks and have a blast with that. And then go back to K-Love.

I guess I am weird. I don't listen to secular music and am completely unapologetic for not listening to it. If it doesn't lift up the name of Jesus and glorify my God, I figure I don't need it...but I don't have a problem with people who do...this is my conviction...Used to listen to some of the ones you all mentioned....:D

I can relate to this. Going to Bible college, I had a handful of friends who were always chastizing me about my secular music. I love any kind of music if it is done well, with skill and heart. I'll even listen to styles that I don't really.. like that much -IF- the band or artist is really good.
My faves:
Dream Theater : It's often cheesy and 90's-ish, but these guys are uber talented musicians!
Beck
Cake
Clutch
Cooker John : Local guy, check him out (http://www.cookerjohn.com) He has songs available for download.
Groove Armada
Johnny Cash
Moby
Motorhead
Portishead
Radiohead ... hmm... a lot of heads.
Sting

I've been looking through my MediaPlayer, trying to find the secular music so I can join the thread ;)
So far I've come up with:
Enya
Secret Garden
Patrick Doyle (soundtrack to Henry V)
Howard Shore (soundtracks to LOTR)
Shania Twain
The Cambridge Singers - these guys are awesome. Not sure if it counts as secular; since they're doing old stuff, a lot of it's Christian.
