I'm sure many of your have found various books & other resources helpful...let's share a few.

Here are mine...

ON WORSHIP:

the Unquenchable Worshipper (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FUnquenchabl e-Worshipper-Coming-Heart-Worship%2Fdp%2F0830729135%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dbooks% 26qid%3D1176817644%26sr%3D8-1&tag=worshcommu-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325") by Matt Redman
Passion...pure passion. This book is mandatory reading for anyone serving 'under me' on a worship team, and I've given out 25+ as gifts in the past 3 or so years. It primarily deals with the 'heart issues' of leading worship. I LOVE IT! His book "Facedown" is also very good.

the Complete Worship Leader (ttp://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FComplete-Worship-Leader-Kevin-Navarro%2Fdp%2F0801091160%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dbooks% 26qid%3D1176817735%26sr%3D1-1&tag=worshcommu-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325") by Kevin J. Navarro
By far the most helpful book on leading worship I've personally come across, and I'd encourage any and all to read it. He's also recently published "The Complete Worship Service" which is on my 'to read' list, and which I suspect is also very helpful.

the Art of Worship (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FArt-Worship-Musicians-Leading-Modern%2Fdp%2F080106709X%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dbooks%2 6qid%3D1176817804%26sr%3D1-1&tag=worshcommu-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325") by Greg Sheer
I am currently reading this and it is ESSENTIAL reading for all worship leaders/pastors...VERY practical, especially if you're in a church that is transitioning between styles or musicians. Incredibly helpful.

Created for Worship (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FCreated-Worship-Genesis-Revelation-You%2Fdp%2F1845500261%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dbooks%26qi d%3D1176817857%26sr%3D1-1&tag=worshcommu-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325") by Noel Due
Though not nearly as engaging as the fore-mentioned titles, Due's book is thoroughly Biblical, covering the whole witness of the Scriptures, and is helpful in getting 'the Big Picture' of what worship is from God's view. This is a much easier read that David Peterson's "Engaging with God", also on the sam</font><font size="4"><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">e topic. I honestly think that anyone reading only the personal and practical material (the first 3) would be sorely lacking a full-orbed Biblical picture of worship if they did not balance those studies with either this book, or one like it - a Biblical Theology of worship.

Also, later this year Bob Kauflin will be releasing his book "Worship Matters" which I have no doubt will be great.

blessings...please share some of yours as well!

Shannon,
An "oldie but a goodie" for me is "Exploring Worship" by Bob Sorge ... I've used it as "required reading" for worship teams before!

I've been doing some reading and found it absolutely necessary to update my 'SUGGESTED RESOURCES' list:

Created for Worship by Noel Due does everything that the nearly impossible to read Engaging with God attempts to do, only it's actually understandable. That's not to say it's a simple read - this is a detailed study of the Scriptures on Worship, however you don't need to be a Seminary student to comprehend it.

Also, I'm half-way through Greg Scheer's Art of Worship and I must say that it is by far the most helpful and practical guide to leading worship that I have ever encountered. My copy is highlighted and marked-up so much that I don't need a bookmark to tell how far I've read! I don't care if you lead traditional worship or contemporary, at a mega-church, or a little 10 person house-church, Scheer's volume is an essential read, and I wholeheartedly endorse it.

So, my UPDATED list of books all worship leaders should invest in:

"The Unquenchable Worshipper" by Matt Redman

"The Complete Worship Leader" by Kevin J. Navarro

"The Art of Worship" by Greg Sheer

"Created for Worship" by Noel Due

I also posted this on another topic, but it seemed to fit here.

I want to recommend a book that is my textbook on the Hour on Sunday, called, well, "An Hour on Sunday" by Nancy Beach (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html%3FASIN=0310252962%26tag=chrismoncusc o-20%26lcode=xm2%26cID=2025%26ccmID=165953%26locatio n=/o/ASIN/0310252962%253FSubscriptionId=0EMV44A9A5YT1RVDGZ82 ). Hands down it's the best book I've read regarding making the service the best it can be. From Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html%3FASIN=0310252962%26tag=chrismoncusc o-20%26lcode=xm2%26cID=2025%26ccmID=165953%26locatio n=/o/ASIN/0310252962%253FSubscriptionId=0EMV44A9A5YT1RVDGZ82 )...
