What's happening people. Name's Conner from Baton Rouge, LA. I came on full time at my church in Prairieville in March of '06. I am the Worship and Youth Director for River Community: a Presbyterian church plant who now runs roughly 300-350 between the 2 services we run on Sunday morning.
I prefer the term Lead Worshipper (see talks from Louie Giglio or Chris Tomlin to get the difference.) I have a team of incredible people who volunteer. We're guitar led, I switch between Acoustic and Electric. My influences for worship are the Passion Crew, Hillsong United, Jeremy Camp, Steve Fee, Shane and Shane, Third Day, Caedmon's Call, Todd Fields, Kristian Stanfill, etc.
To be able to take on my position full time I took on the role of Youth Director. It's been insane! So besides leading worship for 2 services on Sunday morning I also lead worship for our Youth Services. I am trying to move towards an all youth band. Currently, if I can replace my drummer, I'll have that.
So it's an interesting situation leading adults AND students. You can check out some of my rants, thoughts, ideas, etc. from my blog over at www.worshipcity.wordpress.com. I look forward to getting to know ya'll a bit better.
