Hey everyone, I'm thinking ahead to next Christmas already... Any ideas of different ways to present our Christmas music at different venues? Besides the nursing home/jail/shopping mall ideas. I feel that our music ministry needs to step it up in the outreach department and get past entertaining people from neighboring churches with our Christmas musical. (As much as we invite, invite, invite, the majority of our audience are already churched.)
And not just for Christmas, either...
Any ideas would be welcome!

Last year we were invited to play a set of Christmas songs at Louisville's major holiday festival, "Light Up Louisville." The event is held outdoors on some city streets downtown.
Not sure if anything like that is in the works this year, but Christmas is definitely a time when unchurched people are more receptive than usual to hearing about Christ through music.

Early in our ministry, we did a lot of out reach projects in the community. What we found was we were just one of many helping the same group of people identified only by the location of their homes. (poor)
Now we work with area agencies who identify for us who qualifies for help, this year we are preparing 600 gifts for what we have named "Adopt A Child", and the best part is they come into the church to pick up the gifts!
I say all that to say this, while they are they we get to serve them and show them around the church, we find the majority are unchurched! This type of event would be the perfect place to use your music teams with Christmas music, drama, whatever you prepared. 600 new families will be shown our Children's area, worship area, etc. It has been an amazing experience for all our volunteers each year!
