Hey everyone!
My wife Beth and i have been involved in leading worship for the past 17 years. 14 of those, I was the worship pastor of Calvary Chapel Gulf Breeze. I left that position in 2004 and we began pursuing foreign missions.
Knowing that we wanted to serve in Ireland (we had been on a short-term trip there and coudn't get it off our minds and hearts) and feeling God leading us to do some sort of worship training, I did what every sane person would do - a Google search.
I put in "missions ireland" and Greater Europe Mission (http://www.gemission.org) (GEM) was one of the first hits. They had a "country spotlight" page about the work they were doing in Ireland and on that page a list of what they were looking for in new personnel. On that list was "Worship Trainers". Huh - go figure.
Since then we have started a ministry through GEM to pastors, worship leaders and worship teams throughout Ireland. You can read more about our work at our website (http://www.garyandbeth.org).
We plan to move there permanently (hopefully in 2008) but in the mean time we are in Europe several times a year for 3-5 weeks at-a-time. We're still in the process of raising our financial support and our current MO is allowing our daughter Molly (19) some time to be ready for us to leave her while she continues her studies at University.
Looking forward to participating in this forum. Thanks Fred!
Many blessings - Gary
