I got an early copy of "Today Is The Day" from Integrity today. Very different feel than "All To You...Live". Less rock and more of a blues/jazz feel. Good stuff. I'll post a review on my blog (http://practicalworship.blogspot.com/) sometime soon.
Anyone else have a copy yet? What do you think?

How did you get a copy early? I preorder that CD a long time ago from Integrity and have not gotten it.

We introduced the song "Today is the Day" 2 weeks ago in our worship set and it went over very well. Very fun, high energy sing-along.

Basically, I'm just extremely cool.
Seriously.
For real, though...Integrity sends me music to sample. The stuff usually comes without all of the final packaging...just a CD in a clear plastic case.

Nate,
we got it too ... Lincoln introduced us to "Today is the Day" at the National Worship Leader Conference in Austin last month - cool song.
I'm loving his guitar work in this album. Definitely more a radio play album than a corporate worship album, overall, though, IMHO.

You can buy and download just the title song for $.99 at Amazon.com...
I agree, it's a great song and we'll be doing it soon!

We're looking at doing Today is the Day in the New Year. For you guys that have done it, are you sticking pretty close to the album arrangement?

we do it just like you hear it on the album, including the guitar solo.

We do it like the album version as well. But, you can kill the solo and just go straight to the bridge to make the song easier.

We're actually going to be learning this song as well this year.
Does anyone happen to have a link to a video of the guitar solo? I'd like to learn it but I'm a relative newb on the electric and can use all the help I can get!
EDIT: Haha i just found one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0ufGBRiYUE
Looks like I've got my work cut out for me! Should be fun.

yea, Lincolns solos arent for the faint of heart... that man has some mad skillz. i love them though... i would say the solo in Today is the Day is one of his easier solos to play.
my band has started doing "another hallelujah" by him, i love ripping that solo... not for personal reasons, but simply because when i play that solo, i can feel god in the room.. for the simple reason that i know its god playing the guitar through me, because i'm really not that great of a guitarist... but it always seems to be flawless when we do it

For those who are doing this song, what is the correct chord progression for the first part of the bridge during the lead guitar solo? What I hear in my headphones and what CCLI tells me are slightly different.

Hi Guys,
I really love this song and I'm trying to learn the guitar chords and guitar solo. I want to ask if you can tell me what type of sound/guitar effects did they use for this song? I planning to buy a guitar pedals and I want to have the similar effects.

Lincoln uses two overdrive pedals, the Boss Blues Driver and the Boss Super Overdrive. His amp is a Vox AC-30, or he uses the AC simulator on his Podx3. He also uses some delay here and there and a touch of reverb.
