My current personal favorites are:

Marvelous Light - Charlie Hall
Creation's King - Graham Kendrick/Paul Baloche
You never let Go - Matt Redman
Heavenly Father, Beautiful Son - Sovereign Grace Music
Glorious - Chris Tomlin
It was Your Grace - Sovereign Grace Music
Everlasting God - Brenton Brown/Vineyard
See His Love - Tom Lockley/Tim Hughes
Let us Be - Robbie Riedner/Vineyard
Sweetly Broken - Jeremy Riddle/Vineyard
O Taste & See - Brian & Jenn Johnson
Bless His Name - Tony Sanchez/Vineyard
Shine - Matt Redman
Free - Steve Jones, Randy McCoy/Vineyard

I'm also partial to my newest song, "Rejoice in Me", but then again, I'm biased.

Most of these have been pretty well accepted anywhere I've introduced them in the past few months...solid God-glorifying lyrics, great, edgy, modern music...love'em!

I downloaded the new Tim Hughes tune "Happy Day" a few days ago and it is absolutely incredible.

Hey,
I need a better capo for my electric guitar and before i go and buy another one.....can anyone tell me what they use on electric guitars and if they would recommend the brand to me.

I use Kyser quick clamp. Its okay......but gets out of tune too easy.

I hate to spend money and waste it on a capo that wouldnt do the job.

thanks,
mike
btw the new WOW 2007 cd is top of the line for praise music.

I recently received Michael Bleecker's "Village Worship" in the mail to review, and I must say "Here I Am" is an absolute WINNER, especially if you're a fan of Shane & Shane. Melodic, lyrically deep, and VERY passionate - I suggest it!

Good tune for a podcast?

Actually, yes Fred - I hope to put together a mix for you this weekend...
Bleecker sent me his, as did Bowser and WCR (which is an AMAZING cd).

Speaking of WCR, West Coast Revival have an excellent song called "Wonder of Jesus Crucified" - it's so incredibly DRIVING, energetic, and passionate - we'll definitely be doing it at youth, and probably at the youth worship night in June...
but their whole c.d. is excellent - even Cyle took to it immediately (which is VERY rare).

For the past 2 weeks I have been listening Casting Crowns "East to West". This line just shot straight to my heart. "Tell me how far the east is to the west - From one scared hand to the other."

Also, I just picked up Todd Agnew's "Better Questions" through ITunes. I zeroed in on "If You Wanted Me"

God is good!!!

Blessing,
Terry

I thought I would cross post this from my blog (http://4whatitsworth.wordpress.com/)...

It’s been a GREAT year for new music. Here are a few songs, newly available on iTunes, that I’m really digging right now.

“the Glory of it All” - David Crowder Band, from Remedy

- honestly, this is probably my favorite from the new Crowder c.d. It’s a slow build, but wow - when it gets there!

“All I Have” - Vineyard Music, from Stand in Awe

- to even my own surprise, as it didn’t jump out at me at first, is probably the most powerful Vineyard song written in recent memory (maybe better than "Sweetly Broken"!). I’m proud to say that this is written and recorded by the worship pastor of the Vineyard church I often visited (it was too far away to be my home church, but would have been if it had been closer) when I lived in Ohio.

“Join the Song” - Vicky Beeching, from Painting the Invisible

- a beautiful combination of ancient and modern, that is both deeply personal, and doctrinal at the same time - and with a piano riff that’s unforgettable!

and lastly,
“Hosanna” - Hillsong, from Savior King

- this was originally recorded on the latest Hillsong United c.d., but just didn’t stick to me for some reason. The arrangement and performance here, however, is very moving, and shows the full potential this song has as a corporate worship song. I look forward to using it soon.

So, what about you? Have you made any surprising discoveries lately? Be encouraged to share!

btw...

FINALLY the Michael Gungor Band's All I need is Here is available on iTunes...
he's the co-writer of "Friend of God" but don't expect to find anything like that here... it's really an interesting release...sorta a combo of Crowder (the blue-grass stuff, and the alternative stuff) + Jeremy Riddle + a bit of Radiohead for good measure. I like.

"All I Have" is one of my favorite songs also. It is definitely one of the best recent Vineyard songs. "Free" is another good one.

The title song Remedy from Crowder's new one stands out to me.

The new CD by Lakeview Church called Make You Known is impressive also.
