That's right I've gone and done it. A "Kitchen" confessional. Over on the ol blog I've got all the details, but in short I've begun a series of posts that will chronicle my journeys to conquer the Kitchen.

My wife who is a wonderful cook, has been extremely overloaded with school lately and I've stepped up to take on the kitchen-master mantle. She's grateful, I'm taming the culinary world, and our relationship is a bit sweeter as a result.

Check out the ol blog for my first confessional with recipe and all...

You know, I worked through college at Mint To Be Catering under certified Master Chef Leigh Jackson. I have a bazillion very simple, very tasty recipes if you'd like me to share. From high class to down home, I've done it all. I looooove to cook.

Thanks, Ben... go ahead and post a few.

I've been cooking for about 12 years now, so I'm not a total noob, I just kinda put in on pause when we got married, which I probably shouldn't have done, but anyways...

I didn't mean to make it sound like I had never cooked before. I'm actually fairly decent. Well, most people that I serve my creations to think so :)

You know what, I think I've found my next blog project.

Food 2.0 (aka the food confessional). Russ, you've inspired me. I'm totally ripping off your idea. Bwah ha ha haaaa!

Have fun! I've already had the wheels turning about doing some sort of "Kitchen Confessional" series on YouTube, would you by any chance like to collaborate?

I'd love to. It could either very disastrous or very funny...or both!

What exactly did you have in mind?

Not realy sure off the top of my head, but I had kind of thought about doing just some "real man's" cooking. Kind of just a video journal of some of those "simple" recipes that can be thrown together pretty easily.

I think the element of "disastrous" kitchen humor would be a plus though. Maybe we could put together a "10 minute" episode with a good simple recipe, some witty trivia, and something funny.

I don't know.

I had even thought about just doing a pretty straightforward "confessional" style video, as in, hey this is what I "did" for this dish, or even kind of a first-person shooter (cook's pov) style video.

Again, just had the wheels tunring, but might it be cool, to do some sort of confessional, attached to a "blog" that has more of the "substance" and actual recipes, text content, etc...

Your thoughts?

I very much like the "episode" vs. the "confessional." That way, you can build up e-steam for when Food Network's "Next Food Network Star" rolls around, we could have a fighting chance.
