I just want to know what good fast worship songs you guys do. I've notices that in our repertoire contains mostly slower to medium paced songs, so I find myself repeating the same few fast songs. Part of the issue is that I'm probably kind of picky in terms on song selection. I want the songs to be both theologically accurate, as well as theologically informative. A lot of the faster songs I've come across may not be heretical, but we've opted not to do them because they don't really say much, and tend to be popular because they are good musically. Anyway, let me know your favorites. Thanks.

IMO....sometimes songs that don't say a lot can be much more easily understood and related to by visitors and those who are new in faith. Take "Friend of God" for example....not a lot of deep lyrics here but 'newbies' love this song....it sums up their new relationship with God and they are excited to sing about it.

We sing most of the songs mentioned above...and those we don't I've written down the names so I can find them :-D

My mind is blank cause it is Monday...but here is a couple not mentioned:

Say So--Houghton & Grungor
I Know Who I Am--Houghton
There's No God Like Our God-- (love this one)
Overtaken--Gateway Worship
The Presence of the Lord is Here/My Time for God's Favor--Kurt Carr :D
Great God--Free Chapel

To me, the beauty of fast stuff is that it doesn't have to be super-deep. I just love to take time to celebrate who God is and what he's done and give people a chance to move around, maybe get their dance on. I'm usually very intentional about picking fast songs to be very celebratory, like "My Savior Lives" (Packiam) or "I Am Free" (Egan) or "To Deserve" (Stockstill).

If I can't see myself jumping up and down with a fast song, I'm usually not apt to do it.

Just the way I do it. :)

Great thread - I"m always looking for good, upbeat songs. I don't necessarily "DO" all of these at my church (http://www.sscommunitychurch.com), but have done them, or love doing them or particpating in them!

1. I Am Free
2. Friend of God
3. You, You Are God (my fave, still!)
4. O Taste and See
5. For All You've Done (Hillsongs)
6. My Savior Lives
7. Days of Elijah (old, but great!)
8. Lord Reign in Me
9. Everyday
10. One Way
11. Your Grace is Enough
12. Marvelous Light
13. I'm Not Ashamed (Tommy Walker)
14. Beautiful One
15. Sing to the King
