Hi guys and gals,

We're doing a special night of worship over here in Vtown, and I'd like to recruit your help in filling the "planned" song list.

The underlying theme of the night is going to be "Attributes of God" - we had a special night of worship last year in which many of the songs were "me-centric" and I felt the Holy Spirit, through some conversations and forums I'm a part of leading us a little more into the realm of "revealing God's nature" to those who come and participate, than singing about how much we need God, or how far we've fallen, or how much we're going to praise Him tonight...

So, it would be a great help from all of you to suggest congregational songs, hymns, choruses that are GOD-centered and easy to sing/learn (from a congregational standpoint).

Thanks!
Russ

1.) I know it's old, but at my church, we break out a little treasure called Lydia Nichols and her cello on More Precious Than Silver. It is utterly rapturous.

2.) You, You Are God is always a great upbeat song that people can get into.

3.) I swear by Consuming Fire by Tim Hughes.

4.) Of course you have to do How Great is Our God

5.) which inevitably leads to How Great Thou Art

Those are just off the top of my head.

Would that be Lydia Nichols as in daughter of Mike & Lorri Nichols?

Is Lorri on your praise team there?

Cool songs!

Yes and yes.

Lori is absolutely amazing. What a voice! She hasn't been by in the past two weeks, but they've been moving...so. Anywho, yeah. Lydia is the bomb-diggity as well. That cello stuff is SUH-WEET!

Sweet, I've done a few specials with Lorri. She is a great singer! I love to hear her sing a song called "Love Never Fails" it rocks, in a slow worshipful, deep, emotional kind of rock way.

Great to hear that Lydia is doing well on her cello. I didn't know she played. That's awesome!
