In my travels visiting churches and speaking at conferences about copyright issues, one of the most common and confusing questions I encounter is, “Can we post files on our website and allow downloads?” Often the question is really more of a hope for affirmation that it’s OK to do what they’re already doing.

What Makes a Great Worship Song?
What is a “Worship Song” Anyway?
In order to define what makes a great “worship song” we have to figure out what a “worship song” actually is. Is it a song by a “worship artist?” Is it a song that you sing during “worship?” What kind of “worship?” What is it?
Together-ness: The Worship Band is my Small Group
For all of my adult life I’ve been a paid staffer in music ministry in small to medium sized growing churches. I love it.
One thing I continue to learn (you’d think I get it, right?) is that it’s impossible to have deep, meaningful friendships with every single person in the church. It just can’t happen. Whenever I’ve tried to go deep with more than about 8 other people, I’ve failed miserably. That doesn’t mean I don’t speak to anyone else or even hang out with anyone else. But it does mean that I am intentional about where I direct my friendship.

Uniformity In Worship
by Tom Kraeuter
My dad’s father passed away when I was still a baby. Consequently I have only ever known one grandpa. My mom’s father, my grandfather, was a farmer. For most of my growing up years he lived four states away, so visits were usually once a year. Looking back on those visits, it seems to me that each member of my family (Mom and Dad and five kids) greeted Grandpa differently.
